GTCFX review.
No FCA authorisation found, and a website that will not answer a plain request.
RISKY
OUT OF 10
Our first pass searched only the brand name and found nothing, which was too narrow a search. A fact-check against a competitor listing produced a lead — GLOBAL MARKETS GROUP LIMITED — which we then verified ourselves on two independent registers: the FCA lists it as Authorised under FRN 744501 since 2016 with client money permission, and Companies House confirms 09493910 is that same active company. A real top-tier licence therefore exists in this group. What we could NOT confirm is that gtcfx.com is operated by that authorised entity — the site refuses to load for us, the link comes from a third party rather than the regulator or the broker, and the FCA separately lists "Global Markets Group (clone)" as Unauthorised. Ask which legal entity holds your account and verify FRN 744501 and Companies House 09493910 yourself before depositing.
Each criterion is scored 1 to 10 from primary sources. The overall score is their unweighted mean. How scoring works.

| Platforms | MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, WebTrader, GTC Go (proprietary app) |
- A genuine FCA authorisation exists in the corporate group: Global Markets Group Limited, FRN 744501, Authorised since 2016
- That entity holds the FCA permission to hold and control client money
- Companies House and the FCA register agree on the company (09493910)
- Domain registered since 2015, indicating a real operating history
- The group's UK entity holds the FCA permission to hold and control client money
- The FCA register and Companies House independently agree on the same company (09493910)
- No regulator warning or clone entry exists against the GTCFX brand itself
- The corporate group's authorisation has run continuously since 2016
- Publishes a full account table with minimum deposits, leverage, spreads and commission
- Names the specific entities its trading terms apply to rather than leaving it implied
- MT4, MT5 and a proprietary app, with 27,000+ instruments advertised
- We could not confirm that gtcfx.com is operated by the FCA-authorised entity
- The FCA separately lists "Global Markets Group (clone)" as Unauthorised — the name is already being impersonated
- The competitor listing that supplied the lead itself flags this brand's UK claim as a clone firm
- The broker's own website refuses to load, so its stated licences cannot be read or checked
- No match on CySEC, the Seychelles FSA or the UAE SCA registers
- Vanuatu, South Africa, Mauritius and Australia publish nothing searchable
- No verifiable trading costs, account terms or platform detail
- Headline 1:2000 leverage applies only to the Vanuatu (VFSC) and FSCM entities, by the broker's own footnote
- The site lists FCA and ASIC in a group compliance claim we could not verify under any GTC name
- gtcfx.com is not served to UK visitors at all
- GTCFX itself badges an FCA firm it holds only a minority shareholding in as one of its five entities
- Three further regulator claims — FCA, DFSA and CySEC — appear with no licence numbers at all
- Accounts are registered with the Vanuatu entity, not with any tier-1 licensee
- A fourth possible counterparty in Anjouan, Comoros, is absent from the regulations page
- Its own footer says no entity licence extends to another, directly under a group-wide cover claim
- Japan is a declared restricted jurisdiction yet is served the full site and signup form
Overview
This review is shorter than most, and deliberately so. We searched the three registers we are able to query — the FCA, CySEC and the Seychelles FSA capital-markets list — and found no licensed entity behind this brand in any of them. Several other registers this broker may appear on, including the UAE and Vanuatu, publish nothing searchable, so we have not checked those and do not claim to. We were also unable to retrieve any page from gtcfx.com, which returns an access-denied response to a plain request.
Neither of those is proof of wrongdoing. A broker that does not target UK clients has no reason to appear on the FCA register, and blocking automated traffic is a routine anti-scraping measure. But together they mean we cannot currently verify this broker’s regulatory claims against a primary source — and an unverified claim is not something we will restate as fact.
gtcfx.com was first registered in June 2015. That is a real operating history and argues against this being a throwaway site.
Scoring note. We have verified this broker’s regulatory position directly against the relevant public register. We have not yet been able to verify its trading costs, account terms or support arrangements from a primary source, so those four criteria are scored neutrally rather than guessed, and the overall score should be read as provisional. We would rather show you an incomplete score than a confident one built on numbers we cannot stand behind.
Overview Table
| Category | Information |
|---|---|
| FCA authorisation | None found for GTCFX or GTC |
| Other regulators | Claimed but not verified by us |
| Website | Returns access-denied to a plain request |
| Domain first registered | 16 June 2015 |
| Trading costs | Not verified |
Key Takeaways
- No FCA-authorised firm matching this broker was found on a search of the register for both GTCFX and GTC.
- That matters if you are in the UK, and matters less if you are not — but it does mean the FSCS and UK client money rules do not apply.
- We could not read the broker’s own site, so no cost, account or platform claim here has been verified.
- The domain dates from 2015, which is a genuine operating history, not a new site.
- This is an incomplete review, and we are saying so rather than filling the gaps from marketing material.
- Ask for the licence number and the exact legal entity name, then check both on that regulator’s own register before depositing.
Licenses & Regulation
This section was rewritten after a fact-check. Our first pass searched the registers for the brand — “GTCFX” and “GTC” — found nothing, and recorded the position as unverified. That search was too narrow. Brokers are licensed under corporate names that often look nothing like the brand, and searching only the brand is how you miss a real licence.
What a second pass found
A competitor listing associates this brand with a UK company, GLOBAL MARKETS GROUP LIMITED, Companies House number 09493910. We treated that as a lead and checked it ourselves against two independent public sources:
| Source | Result |
|---|---|
| FCA Financial Services Register | Global Markets Group Limited — FRN 744501 — Authorised, since 12 September 2016, with permission to hold and control client money |
| Companies House | 09493910 = GLOBAL MARKETS GROUP LIMITED, Active, incorporated 17 March 2015, registered at Green Park House, 15 Stratton Street, London W1J 8LQ |
| Cross-check | The FCA record for FRN 744501 gives Companies House number 09493910 — the same company. The two registers agree. |
So a genuine, current FCA authorisation does exist in this group’s orbit, and it is not a weak one: continuous since 2016 and carrying the client money permission. Under our scoring rules a top-tier licence is strong positive evidence wherever a reader lives, because the bar to obtain one is not a bar a fraudulent operation clears.
What we still cannot confirm — and it matters
We could not independently establish that gtcfx.com is operated by that authorised entity. The association comes from a third-party listing, not from the broker or the regulator, and gtcfx.com refuses to serve us a page from which to read its own stated licences. A corporate group can be entirely real while the website in front of you is not the licensed part of it.
Two facts sharpen that concern rather than settling it. The FCA register separately lists “Global Markets Group (clone)” as Unauthorised — someone is already impersonating this exact name. And the same competitor listing that supplied the lead itself flags this brand’s UK claim as a clone firm.
We are not resolving that here, because we cannot. What we can do is tell you exactly what to check.
What to check before depositing
- Ask which legal entity holds your account, and expect a name — not a brand.
- If you are told Global Markets Group Limited, verify FRN 744501 on the FCA register and confirm the entity name returned matches. A clone will quote the real number.
- Confirm the Companies House number is 09493910 and the address matches the register.
- Establish which entity receives your deposit and whether it holds client money permission — an authorised UK parent does not extend its protection to an offshore arm that onboards you.
- Treat the FCA’s own clone entry for this name as a live warning, not history.
Registers we searched
| Register | Result |
|---|---|
| FCA (UK) | Nothing under “GTCFX”/”GTC”. Under the corporate name: FRN 744501 Authorised, plus an Unauthorised clone entry for the same name |
| CySEC (247 firms) | No match |
| Seychelles FSA | No match, including trade names |
| SCA UAE (312 licensees) | Two unrelated GTC-named firms; neither ties to gtcfx.com |
| Companies House | 09493910 Active, confirmed against the FCA record |
| VFSC, FSCA, Mauritius FSC, ASIC | Not checked — no searchable list published |
What the broker’s own site says — and where it overreaches
Having reached gtcfx.com from an EU vantage point, we can now compare its regulatory claims against what the registers show.
Its legal text names two entities: GTC Global Trade Capital Co. Limited, Port Vila, Vanuatu, licensed by the VFSC as a Financial Dealer; and a South African entity, company number 2020/810937/07, at 18 Cavendish Road, Claremont, Cape Town, licensed by the FSCA. Neither the VFSC nor the FSCA publishes a searchable list, so we could not verify either — they stand as the broker’s claims.
Elsewhere the site states client funds are held under “FSCA, VFSC, FCA, ASIC, and FSC” regulation. Two of those we can speak to. We found no FCA-authorised entity under GTCFX, GTC or GTC Global, and ASIC publishes nothing searchable. The only FCA authorisation we could tie to this group at all is Global Markets Group Limited (FRN 744501) — an entity GTCFX does badge as its own, listing it on the regulations page as one of five GTC companies tagged “TIER 1” while disclosing only that a group company is a minority shareholder in it.
Listing “FCA” in a group-wide compliance claim while the accounts on offer are explicitly VFSC and FSCM is the pattern this site exists to name. A licence that may exist somewhere in a corporate group is not the licence holding your deposit — and here the broker’s own footnote tells you which entity is.
Correction: GTCFX does claim the FCA link itself
An earlier version of this review said the FCA connection came from a third-party listing and was “one the broker does not itself assert”. That was wrong. GTCFX’s own regulations page lists Global Markets Group Limited*, FRN 744501 as one of its five entities, tagged “TIER 1” and described as a “Tier 1 FCA-regulated entity serving UK & European clients”. Its Active Regulatory Footprint block repeats it under “United Kingdom”.
What GTCFX discloses about that relationship is a single sentence: “GTC GROUP L.L.C-FZ is a minority shareholder in Global Markets Group Limited.” A minority shareholding is not a licence. The entity name carries an asterisk on every appearance and we could find no footnote anywhere on the site explaining what the asterisk means.
Eleven entities, and three regulator claims with no numbers
The site names eleven companies. Three of them appear only in the Contact Us office list, each labelled with a regulator and no licence number at all:
- GTC Global Trade Capital (UK) Ltd, One Canada Square, London — “FCA Regulated”. No FRN. This is a second, separate FCA claim distinct from the Global Markets Group route.
- GTC Global Trade Capital Ltd, DIFC Dubai — “DFSA Regulated”. No number.
- GTC Global Trade Capital (EU) Ltd, Limassol — “CySEC Regulated”. No CIF number, and CySEC appears nowhere else on the site.
None appears on the regulations page. The same Contact Us page carries placeholder telephone numbers (+971 50 000 0000, +1 555 000-0000), so this may be unfinished boilerplate — but it is live on the production site, and a reader cannot tell the difference.
Who actually takes your money
GTCFX states it plainly, and it is not any of the tier-1 names: “By proceeding with opening an account, this will be registered with GTC Global Trade Capital Co. Limited … licensed by the VFSC as a Financial Dealer and may act as the relevant product issuer and/or counterparty.” That is the Vanuatu entity.
A newly surfaced fourth possible counterparty is GTC Global Trading Ltd, registered in Anjouan, Union of the Comoros (company 16283, AOFA licence L16283/GTC). It is absent from the five-entity regulations page and from the group’s “five regulators” marketing, appearing only in the site-wide footer.
The group’s own footer settles the question its marketing blurs: “No entity’s licence should be understood as extending to any other entity within the group.” It sits directly beneath a claim that client funds are covered by “FSCA, VFSC, FCA, ASIC, and FSC”.
The UK block is the broker’s, not ours
gtcfx.com returns HTTP 403 to UK visitors at its own origin — we verified it twice, and it is a refusal by GTCFX rather than anything on our side. Every other country we checked receives a byte-identical page. Japan is named a restricted jurisdiction in GTCFX’s own footer and on its restricted-countries page, and is served the full site including the account-opening form.
How to Trade
We could not verify the product range, execution model or account structure from a primary source at the time of writing. Rather than repeat figures from comparison sites or the broker’s marketing, we have left this section open. Take these details from your own account-opening screens and the broker’s current terms.
Account Types
We could not verify account tiers, minimum deposits or per-tier pricing from a primary source at the time of writing. Rather than repeat figures from comparison sites or the broker’s marketing, we have left this section open. Take these details from your own account-opening screens and the broker’s current terms.
Account types
Sourced directly from gtcfx.com, which serves its site to EU visitors but not to UK ones — this section exists because we fetched it from France.
| Account | Minimum deposit | Max leverage | Spreads | Commission | Min lot |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | None | 1:2000 *** | From 1.0 pips | Zero | — |
| ECN | $3,000 | 1:500 *** | From 0.0 pips (raw) | $5 per standard lot | 0.01 |
*** That asterisk is the most important thing on this page. GTCFX’s own footnote states those terms apply only to clients of GTC Global Ltd (FSCM) and GTC Global Trade Capital Co. Limited (VFSC, Vanuatu).
So the broker itself confirms what we could previously only infer: the headline accounts are opened with an offshore entity. Leverage of 1:2000 is impossible under an FCA, CySEC or ASIC retail licence, and GTCFX does not pretend otherwise in the small print — it names the two entities those terms belong to.
The group also advertises 27,000+ instruments, MT4, MT5 and its own GTC Go app, NDD execution under 10ms, and a Dubai headquarters.
Negative Balance Protection
Negative balance protection is a requirement in some jurisdictions and discretionary in others. Without a verified regulator we cannot tell you which regime, if any, applies here. Ask, and get it in writing.
Trading Instruments
We could not verify the instrument range from a primary source at the time of writing. Rather than repeat figures from comparison sites or the broker’s marketing, we have left this section open. Take these details from your own account-opening screens and the broker’s current terms.
GTCFX advertises 27,000+ instruments, with EUR/USD spreads from 0.0 pips on the ECN account and gold from 0.12 pips.
Education & Analysis
Treat any broker-published analysis as content produced by a firm that earns when you trade. We have not independently assessed this broker’s educational material.
Special Offers
We could not verify any promotional terms. Be aware that large deposit bonuses are restricted for retail clients in the UK and EU precisely because they encourage over-trading, and that bonus terms frequently attach conditions to withdrawal.
Opening an Account
Before opening an account anywhere we cannot verify, establish the legal entity, its regulator, its licence number, and where client funds are held — and check those against the regulator’s own register yourself.
Deposits & Withdrawals
Unverified. With no confirmed regulator we cannot tell you whether client funds are segregated or whether any compensation scheme applies. Treat that uncertainty as a material fact when deciding how much to deposit.
Customer Support
GTCFX publishes an email address ([email protected]) and two toll-free numbers — +971 800 667788 for the UAE and +44 800 048 8461 for the UK — alongside offices in Cape Town, Port Vila and Ebene.
The problem is that the same contact page cannot be relied on. It carries placeholder telephone numbers that were never filled in — +971 50 000 0000 and +1 555 000-0000 — and lists two different registered addresses for the same South African entity. It also names three offices whose regulators (FCA, DFSA, CySEC) are given with no licence number at all.
A UK caller is offered a UK freephone number by a firm whose own site returns HTTP 403 to UK visitors. We could not reconcile those two facts, and we would treat the published UK line with caution until GTCFX explains which entity answers it.
Support is offered in a wide range of languages — the site ships in nineteen, including Arabic, both written forms of Chinese, Urdu, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai and Pashto — which tells you where the firm sells.
Prohibited Countries
Eligibility depends on which group entity may accept you, and it changes. We have not reproduced a country list, because a stale restriction list invites someone to assume they are covered when they are not. Confirm during account opening — and confirm which legal entity is accepting you.
Conclusion
We are not calling GTCFX a scam. We have no evidence of that, the domain has been running since 2015, and plenty of legitimate brokers operate entirely outside UK regulation.
What we are saying is narrower and, we think, more useful: on the checks we can actually run, this broker’s regulatory position is unverified. No FCA authorisation exists, and the broker’s own site would not serve us a page from which to read and check its other claims. Every review on this site that scores well does so because we could confirm something; here we could not.
If you are considering depositing, the burden is on the broker to hand you a legal entity name and a licence number you can look up yourself. That is a reasonable thing to ask, and a firm that will not answer it has told you something.

FAQ
Is GTCFX regulated and safe to trade with?
This is unresolved, and the review says so rather than picking a side. A genuine FCA authorisation exists in the corporate group — Global Markets Group Limited, FRN 744501, Authorised since 2016 with permission to hold and control client money, confirmed against both the FCA register and Companies House 09493910. What we could NOT confirm is that gtcfx.com is operated by that authorised entity.
Why can't you confirm the link between GTCFX and that licence?
The association came from a third-party listing, not from the broker or the regulator, and gtcfx.com refuses to serve us a page from which to read its own stated licences. A corporate group can be entirely real while the website in front of you is not the licensed part of it.
What should I check before depositing with GTCFX?
Ask which legal entity holds your account and expect a name, not a brand. If you are told Global Markets Group Limited, verify FRN 744501 on the FCA register and confirm the entity name returned matches, then confirm the Companies House number is 09493910. Also establish which entity receives your deposit — an authorised UK parent does not extend its protection to an offshore arm.
Is there a clone using this name?
Yes. The FCA register separately lists “Global Markets Group (clone)” as Unauthorised. Someone is already impersonating that exact name, which is precisely why checking the entity name against the reference number matters — a clone will quote the real number.
Does the absence of an FCA licence under "GTCFX" mean it is unregulated?
No, and it is important not to read it that way. Most brokers never seek UK authorisation because they do not serve the UK, so lacking one proves very little. We searched four registers — FCA, CySEC, Seychelles FSA and the UAE SCA — and found no entity we can tie to this brand, while Vanuatu, South Africa, Mauritius and Australia publish nothing searchable and were not checked.
