Check a CySEC licence.

TrueBroker is a free broker safety checker, and this page is its register guide for Cyprus, which passports across much of the EU. Most EU facing CFD brokers run on a Cypriot licence, and CySEC publishes both the licence register and the domains each firm is approved to use.

Where is the register?

Search the CySEC entities register for Cyprus investment firms. Each entry carries the licence number, status and the firm’s approved domains.

What do you match?

  • The licence number in the broker’s footer matches the CIF entry
  • The entry is active, not suspended or withdrawn
  • The domain you are trading on appears among the firm’s approved domains

What are the traps?

CySEC maintains a list of non approved domains: websites offering investment services no Cypriot licence covers, including clones of licensed firms. It is exactly the list a clone hopes you never read, and we mirror it daily on the CySEC warning list. A real CIF number on a domain that is not approved for that firm is a clone, not a licence.
