Account Types
Which accounts you can open is decided by which FxPro entity takes you on, and that is decided by your country of residence. Fetched from a UK address on 27 July 2026, the account comparison page offers four choices: Edge Spread Betting, MT4/5 Standard, MT4/5 Raw+ and cTrader. Fetched from Thailand the same URL offers two: MT4/5 Standard and cTrader. The Raw+ account, the one with the tightest pricing, is not on the Thai page at all, while the Thai page adds Cryptocurrencies as a tradable class. Retail clients of FxPro UK Ltd cannot trade crypto CFDs at all — FxPro’s own FAQ footnotes this.
What each account costs
| Account | FX majors | Gold | Commission | Minimum trade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MT4/5 Standard | All-in spread from 1.2 pips | All-in spread from 25 cents | None | 0.01 lot |
| MT4/5 Raw+ | From 0 pips | From 10 cents | $3.50 per lot per side | 0.01 lot |
| cTrader | From 0.2 pips | Low spread plus commission | $35 per $1m traded, charged round-trip on opening | 0.01 lot |
| Edge Spread Betting | Marked-up floating spread | Marked-up floating spread | None | 0.10 GBP stake |
Spread betting is restricted to clients of FxPro UK Limited who reside in the United Kingdom, and runs only on the FxPro Edge platform.
The minimum deposit depends on your entity, and it is not $100
FxPro’s help centre states that the Standard account “has no fixed minimum deposit requirement” and that FxPro recommends an initial deposit of 1,000 USD. The $100 figure that circulates for FxPro — including in the earlier version of this review — appears in the account configuration served to visitors from the UAE, Indonesia and Thailand. It does not appear in the configuration served to the UK, Germany or Singapore, where the Raw+ tier is listed at $1,000 rather than $500.
| Setting | Served to gb, de, sg | Served to ae, id, th |
|---|---|---|
| Standard minimum deposit | Not stated | $100 |
| Raw+ minimum deposit | $1,000 | $500 |
| Margin call / stop-out | 60% / 50% | 10% / 0% |
| Swap-free flagged | No | Yes |
| High-volume tier deposit | $50,000 within 2 months | $1,000 (th, id) to $30,000 (ae) within 2 months |
| Rebate on that tier | None listed | $1.50 per lot |
No account named “Elite” appears anywhere on the pages we fetched. The high-volume tier is unnamed in the site’s own configuration and is reachable only by funding within a two-month window, and the size of that window’s deposit varies by a factor of fifty depending on which entity holds your account.
Currencies, swap-free and professional status
Trading accounts can be denominated in EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, JPY, PLN, AUD and ZAR, with NGN, VND, THB, MYR and IDR added “for certain jurisdictions”. Your FxPro Wallet currency is fixed at registration and, in FxPro’s words, “can not be changed in future” — transfers into an account in another currency are converted at the platform rate. Swap-free accounts are offered for religious purposes on written request to the Back Office, and FxPro warns that fees may apply once positions on certain instruments stay open beyond a set number of days.
You can apply to be reclassified as a professional client by meeting two of three criteria. FxPro’s own onboarding text is blunt about the cost: a CySEC professional client “will not be entitled to bring a claim to the Investor Compensation Fund”, and an FCA professional client “may not be entitled to bring a claim to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme”. Negative balance protection is retained either way.
Correction: the Elite account exists
An earlier version of this review stated that no Elite account exists at FxPro. That was wrong. We pulled the account comparison page through in-country exits in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand on 27 July 2026, and the tab set is identical from all five: Standard, Elite and cTrader. Elite is described as carrying the features of Raw+ with rebates from $1.50 per lot. It is not an Asia-only tier, and it is not absent.
What actually changes by country
The account names are the same everywhere. The terms attached to them are not, and the split does not follow the map you would expect:
| Served to | Stop-out | Swap-free | Minimum deposit |
|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom, Singapore | 60% / 50% | No | Not stated |
| Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand | 10% / 0% | Yes | $100 |
Singapore sits on the UK side of that line, not the offshore one — a detail worth stating because it is the opposite of what the regional pattern would suggest, and we checked it specifically after a review pass claimed otherwise.
A 0% stop-out is the part to understand before you fund an account. It means FxPro will not close your losing positions until your equity reaches zero. Presented as freedom — the Asian pages market it as letting positions run — it removes the buffer that closes you out at 50% of required margin in the UK, and it is offered alongside swap-free accounts and a $100 entry. Whether that combination suits you is your call; that it is a different product from the UK one is not in question.
Deposits & Withdrawals
Funding runs through the FxPro Wallet, a holding account that sits between your payment method and your trading accounts. Money moved into the Wallet is not exposed to the market, and transfers to a trading account in another currency are converted at the platform rate. The methods and limits below are those published on the funding page served on 27 July 2026.
| Method | Currencies | Funding limits | Withdrawal limits | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bank wire | EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, JPY, PLN, AUD, ZAR | No stated limits | From 100 USD or equivalent, no maximum | 1 working day to reach FxPro |
| Visa and Mastercard | EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, JPY, PLN, AUD | 100 min, 10,000 max (or 400 / 1,000,000 JPY) | 50,000 per day or 1,000,000 JPY per transaction | 10 minutes in, 1 working day out |
| Skrill | EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, JPY, PLN | 100 min, 10,000 max | 10,000 or 40,000 PLN | 10 minutes in, 1 working day out |
| Neteller | EUR, USD, GBP, JPY, AUD, PLN | 100 min, 10,000 max | 10,000 or 40,000 PLN | 10 minutes in, 1 working day out |
| PayPal | EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, JPY, PLN, AUD | 100 min, 10,000 max | 10,000; withdrawing more than you deposited is unavailable in some countries | 10 minutes in, 1 working day out |
Accepted cards are Visa, Visa Electron, Visa Delta, MasterCard, Maestro International and Maestro UK. We found no cryptocurrency funding option on any page we were served, and have removed the claim from this review’s data.
The fees that are not zero
FxPro charges nothing on deposits or withdrawals, and that is genuine. Three footnotes on the same page qualify it: a fee of up to 2%, 2.6% or 2.7% depending on the e-wallet “will be incurred if a withdrawal is requested without having traded”. Refunds avoid a fee only if made within six months of funding. Sending and correspondent banks charge their own fees on wires.
Getting money out
FxPro’s client accounting department processes withdrawal requests within one working day, and within a few hours during its working window of Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 16:00 UTC. After that the payment rail sets the pace: SEPA and local transfers up to 2 working days, international bank wire 3 to 5 working days, e-wallets around 1 working day and card withdrawals around 10 working days.
Two anti-money-laundering rules will shape how you get paid, and both are easy to miss. Card, PayPal and Skrill deposits must be refunded to their source before you can withdraw by bank wire, and card withdrawals are capped at what you funded on that specific card in the last six or twelve months depending on the processor. Enquiries go to a different address depending on your entity: [email protected] for FCA clients, [email protected] for CySEC clients and [email protected] otherwise.
One thing worth flagging: the funding page served to Thailand carries none of the limit or currency tables above. Offshore clients get the same promise of zero fees with none of the numbers behind it.
Special Offers
What FxPro promotes to you depends on where you are, and the gap is wide enough to be worth stating precisely. Requested from a UK address on 27 July 2026, fxpro.com/membership returns: “This content may not be available in your current jurisdiction.” Requested from Thailand, the same URL returns a full loyalty scheme.
The Membership Program, offshore only
Traders start at Standard level and move to Silver, Gold or Platinum according to that month’s traded volume, with cash rebates credited monthly to the FxPro Wallet.
| Level | Standard | Silver | Gold | Platinum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cash rebate | None | 5% | 7% | 10% |
FxPro states the rebates apply to both spread-based and commission-based accounts, that volume requirements are set on selected major instruments including gold and silver, and that terms and conditions apply. The tier thresholds themselves are not published on the page.
The funding page served to Thailand also carries a referral offer — “Invite a friend, both of you receive a $50 cash reward” — which is absent from the UK version. PAMM accounts and a partner benefit programme appear in the offshore navigation and not in the UK one. Separately, the account configuration served to the UAE, Indonesia and Thailand lists a $1.50 per lot rebate on its high-volume tier; the configuration served to the UK, Germany and Singapore lists no rebate on any account.
Nothing resembling a deposit bonus is offered on the UK or EU-facing pages. That is not an oversight on FxPro’s part — FCA and CySEC rules prohibit trading incentives for retail clients, and the pattern here is a broker complying where it must and promoting where it need not.
How to Trade
FxPro runs five trading front ends: MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, TradingView and its own FxPro platform, plus an iOS and Android app. The differences between them are larger than the marketing suggests, and the figures below come from FxPro’s own comparison table as served on 27 July 2026.
| Feature | FxPro platform | MT4 | MT5 | cTrader | TradingView |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Indicators | 50+ | 30 | 35+ | 55+ | 400+ |
| Pending order types | 4 | 4 | 6 | 6 | 6 |
| Trailing stop | No | Yes | Yes | Yes, plus breakeven stop | Yes, plus breakeven stop |
| Chart time frames | 15 | 9 | 21 | 26+ plus tick, range, renko | 82 |
| Coding language | None | MQL4 | MQL5 | C# | Pine Script |
| Trading Central | No | Via plug-in | Via plug-in | Via chart targets | No |
| Interface languages | 29 | 37 | 49 | 22 | 19 |
FxPro’s own platform is the weakest of the five on paper: no trailing stop, no scripting language, no Trading Central, and sentiment data only on major pairs. If you want automation, MT4, MT5 or cTrader are the real options. Position management differs too — MT4 is hedging only, MT5 lets you pick netting or hedging, cTrader is hedging.
How your order is filled
Every account type uses market execution, so there are no requotes and market orders fill at the volume-weighted average price. Pending limit orders get the requested price or better; stop orders are filled at VWAP, so they can slip. Minimum stop and limit distance is 1 pip from the current price on MT4 and MT5 for most majors, and there is no minimum on cTrader.
FxPro describes its model as no dealing desk with STP technology, running through an in-house aggregator on servers at the LD4 Equinix facility in London. It also states plainly that “not all client positions are hedged” and that residual exposure is held within internal market risk limits — in other words FxPro is the counterparty on some of your flow. The FCA register confirms this is permitted: FxPro UK Limited holds “Dealing in investments as principal”.
The execution statistics FxPro publishes cover 1 January to 31 December 2025: most orders filled in under 8 milliseconds, more than 90% of market orders filled at the requested price or better, over one billion orders executed and 17 million accounts opened. These are FxPro’s own numbers and we have no way to audit them.
Leverage, margin and swaps
Retail leverage under FxPro UK Ltd is capped at 1:30 on forex majors, 1:20 on minors, gold and major indices, 1:10 on silver, platinum, palladium, base metals, minor indices, energies and commodity futures, and 1:5 on shares and ETFs. A dynamic leverage model then cuts the cap further as your position size in an instrument grows. The offshore-facing version of the same page carries no cap table at all — instead it documents higher margin requirements around news, applied from 15 minutes before to 5 minutes after high-impact releases, and for an hour either side of weekend and holiday breaks: 1:250 on forex, 1:200 on precious metals, 1:100 on indices and 1:50 on energy. Those are the reduced levels.
Swaps are charged every weekday, with a triple charge on Wednesday for forex and metals and on Friday for everything else. FxPro states its swap rates are reviewed and updated weekly by its execution department. Markets close Friday 22:00 UK time and reopen Sunday 22:00 UK time.
Opening an Account
The first thing that happens when you register is that FxPro decides which company you are contracting with, and it does that from your country before you have typed anything. Each region has its own portal domain and each portal URL ends in an entity code.
| Served from | Registration link | Code |
|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | direct.fxpro.uk/en/register/gb/fca | fca |
| Germany, Japan, India, South Africa, Singapore | direct.fxpro.com.cy/en/register/…/cysec | cysec |
| United Arab Emirates | direct.fxpro.group/en/register/ae/crc | crc |
| Indonesia | direct.fxpro.solutions/en/register/id/sal | sal |
| Thailand | direct.fxpro.financial/en/register/th/sal | sal |
All five portals ship the same application bundle, and that bundle contains the full code-to-entity map together with the leverage each entity may offer. Before you can proceed, a pop-up names your entity; for every code other than fca and cysec it adds that the firm “falls outside the European regulatory framework” and that “there is no provision for an investor compensation scheme”. Read that pop-up rather than clicking past it — it is the single most consequential screen in the process.
What the process actually involves
- Create an FxPro Direct profile with an email address and password, or sign up through Facebook or Google.
- Give your country of residence and answer whether you are a US citizen or US resident for tax purposes.
- Complete the appropriateness test. Weak answers do not automatically block you: FxPro shows an acknowledgement screen recommending you learn more, and you may declare that you wish to proceed anyway.
- Choose your FxPro Wallet currency. This one is permanent — FxPro states the setting “can not be changed in future”.
- Upload proof of identity and proof of address, verified through Onfido.
Acceptable identity documents are a valid international passport, a national ID card or a driving licence, with both sides required for cards. Proof of residence must have been issued within the last six months and FxPro lists bank or credit card statements and utility, council tax, phone, television or internet bills. Uploads must be PDF, JPEG or PNG and under 10 MB.
How long it takes
FxPro’s own progress bar says “usually registration takes 3-5 minutes” and its verification screen claims “91% of users are activated within few minutes”. The document-check message is more cautious: “most commonly, the check takes a few minute, but it can last up to 48 hours”. Our earlier estimate of one to two days was pessimistic for the common case and optimistic for the worst.
There is no fixed minimum deposit on the Standard account in the UK-facing help centre, which instead recommends 1,000 USD, though individual payment methods carry their own minimums. One rule worth knowing before you open an account you may not use: FxPro disables live accounts after three months of inactivity, and reactivation is by email or live chat.
Negative Balance Protection
FxPro states that it offers negative balance protection “for all clients, regardless of their categorisation and jurisdiction”, so you cannot lose more than your total deposits. Two qualifications sit alongside it in FxPro’s own documents. The help centre makes the protection “subject to the FxPro Order Execution Policy”, and the licences page adds that it applies “given that it is not manipulated and is accepted in good faith”. Professional clients keep it.
The more useful question is what stops you long before the balance reaches zero, and there the answer changes with your entity.
| Source | Margin call / stop-out |
|---|---|
| Help centre, served to the UK | “The stop out level is 50% for all account types” |
| Help centre, worked example | “The Stop Out level is 50%, depending on your jurisdiction” |
| Account config served to gb, de, sg | 60% / 50% |
| Account config served to ae, id, th | 10% / 0% |
A 0% stop-out is marketed as a feature on the trading-conditions page served to Thailand: “FxPro lets your positions run until equity reaches zero, giving you more time to act and more room for recovery.” Read the other way, it means the account is only liquidated once the money is gone, where a UK or EU client is closed at half their initial margin. Negative balance protection is the floor beneath that, not a substitute for it.
FxPro is candid about the limit of the mechanism: “in very volatile markets, or during market gaps, it is not always possible to fill orders at a specific level and there might be significant slippage when Stop out orders are executed.” That gap is exactly what negative balance protection is for, and it is the reason the promise matters more than the marketing around it.
Protection against a shortfall at the firm itself is a separate thing, and it does not travel with the brand. FxPro’s own registration pop-up carries the same sentence for every entity outside the UK and Cyprus, including the Bahamas and Seychelles ones: “there is no provision for an investor compensation scheme.”
Prohibited Countries
The footer of every fxpro.com page we fetched carries the same short statement: “FxPro does not offer Contracts for Difference to residents of certain jurisdictions, including the United States, Iran and Canada. Additional restrictions may apply depending on local regulations.” Three named countries and an open-ended clause is all FxPro publishes on its own site. Registration also asks directly whether you are a US citizen or a US resident for tax purposes.
A longer list does exist, in the partner-facing section of FxPro’s own onboarding application. Introducing brokers are told to “avoid providing services to residents from” the following, “as we do not on-board clients residing in the mentioned countries”:
- United States, Canada, Puerto Rico
- Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Liberia, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire
- North Korea, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Laos
- North Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tunisia
- Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago
That list is written for partners rather than clients, so treat it as FxPro’s operating position rather than a formal published policy. It is still the most specific statement the company makes anywhere we could reach.
A correction to our previous list
An earlier version of this review listed Guam, American Samoa, Sint Maarten, Curaçao, Myanmar, Equatorial Guinea, South Sudan, Vanuatu, the Virgin Islands and the Democratic Republic of Congo as restricted. We could not source any of those, and they have been removed. In the other direction, we had omitted Cuba, Iraq, Sudan, Liberia, Libya, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Laos, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia and North Cyprus, all of which appear in FxPro’s own list.
Being accepted is not the same as being protected
The more useful risk here is not the ban list, which is short and largely sanctions-driven. It is that most of the world is accepted, and routed. India, Singapore, Japan and South Africa are served the Cyprus entity; the UAE, Indonesia and Thailand are routed to portals ending in codes that resolve to Costa Rica and Seychelles companies with no compensation scheme behind them. If you are outside the UK or the EEA, the question to ask is not whether FxPro will take you but which of its twelve entities will.

Where support stops mattering and escalation starts
Live chat resolves password resets. It does not resolve a firm that will not pay you, and at that point what matters is which regulator your entity answers to. An FxPro UK Limited client complains to a firm the FCA supervises and holds an FSCS membership. An FxPro Financial Services Ltd client falls under CySEC and the Investor Compensation Fund. A client of the Bahamas, Seychelles, Mauritius or Costa Rica entities has FxPro’s own written word that “there is no provision for an investor compensation scheme”. Check the pop-up you accepted at registration before you need to know this.
Two claims from the earlier version of this review did not survive checking and have been removed. The contact page we were served lists offices in the UK, the Bahamas and the UAE, with no Monaco number anywhere; and FxPro publishes no telephone wait-time figure, so our “usually under 5 minutes” had no source. The one processing time FxPro does publish is for document checks: commonly a few minutes, up to 48 hours.

Conclusion
FxPro is a real, long-established broker with a genuine top-tier authorisation, and the most useful thing this review can tell you is that the authorisation probably does not apply to you.
The FCA register confirms FXPRO UK Limited, firm reference 509956, as Authorised since 10 September 2010, with permission to hold and control client money, Companies House number 06925128, and the website fxpro.com recorded against it. There is no disciplinary history on the record. The CySEC register confirms FXPRO Financial Services Ltd, licence 078/07, licensed 5 March 2007, Cyprus company number 181344. [CySEC] The Seychelles FSA register confirms Invemonde Trading Ltd, trading as FxPro, at Oliver Maradan Building, Victoria, Mahé. [FSA Seychelles] Those three checks all pass. A firm does not clear the FCA’s capital and fit-and-proper tests by accident, and that counts.
Which company you get
FxPro’s own registration bundle lists twelve onboarding entities. This is the table that matters more than anything else in this review.
| Entity | Regulator | Maximum leverage | Compensation scheme |
|---|---|---|---|
| FxPro UK Limited | FCA, FRN 509956 | 1:30 | FSCS |
| FxPro Financial Services Limited | CySEC 078/07; claims FSCA 45052 | 1:30 | ICF |
| FxPro Global Markets Ltd | SCB Bahamas, SIA-F184 | 1:200 | None |
| Prime Ash Capital Limited | Mauritius FSC, GB21026568 | 1:500 | None |
| Invemonde Trading Ltd | Seychelles FSA, SD120 | 1:2000 | None |
| FxPro Global Costa Rica Ltd, Costa Rica Markets Ltd, FxPro Markets Ltd, FxPro Markets CR SRL, Pro Global Ltd, FxPro ECS Ltd, FxPro Global Markets Limited (offshore) | None named | 1:10000 | None |
Leverage of 1:10000 is not a typographical error; it is what FxPro’s own configuration states for six of its entities. The pop-up you must accept before opening any of those accounts says, in FxPro’s words, “there is no provision for an investor compensation scheme”.
What we saw by country
From the UK the footer names FxPro UK Limited and FCA 509956, and carries the mandatory disclosure that 76% of retail investor accounts lose money. From Germany, Japan, India, South Africa and Singapore it names FxPro Financial Services Ltd and CySEC 078/07, with the same 76%. From the UAE, Indonesia and Thailand it names no entity and no licence number, and the percentage disappears — replaced by a generic warning. The licences page changes with you too: from the UK it lists CySEC and the FCA; from the UAE, Indonesia and Thailand it drops CySEC and adds the Bahamas and Seychelles. What does not change is the block asserting that FxPro UK Limited is an FSCS member, which sits on the page shown to readers that entity will never onboard.
The honest balance
In FxPro’s favour: verified licences on three registers we can actually search, client money segregated with PwC-audited reporting and funds held at Barclays, Julius Baer and RBS, negative balance protection stated for every client in every jurisdiction, no fees on deposits or withdrawals, published execution statistics, and an unusually frank admission that not all client flow is hedged. Against it: a 0% stop-out sold as a benefit offshore where UK and EU clients are closed at 50%; funding limits and currency tables that vanish from the offshore version of the same page; a $100 minimum deposit that exists only offshore while the UK help centre recommends $1,000; and an FSCS claim displayed to people who cannot use it. The FCA register also lists twelve unauthorised firms trading on the FxPro name (we counted them on the register ourselves; a looser search returns sixteen, but four are unrelated “fx profit” firms), including “FX Pro Europe (clone)” and metatraderfxpro.com — a pasted link is worth checking against fxpro.com before you send anything.
If you are in the UK or the EEA you get a supervised firm, a compensation scheme and leverage capped where the regulator set it. If you are anywhere else, work out which of the twelve companies is on your client agreement before you fund it, because that name — not the FCA badge in the footer — is what you would be making a claim against.
